Minimising vibrations on unstable surface

Any tips for minimising vibrations in the camera when setting up on an unstable floor?

I've been doing some shooting in a house with carpet on floating floorboards. The floorboards have a little bit of play in them and send vibrations through the tripod and camera every time I shift my weight. I didn't notice until I played it back but on the big monitor is obvious and distracting. Glad they were just camera tests.

I'm getting a carbiner today to hang weights from the tripod in an effort to add some stability and plan on getting a thick panel of MDF to stand on and spread my own weight over a greater surface area. Any other ideas to help stabilise the camera or absorb the vibrations? Proven ideas will be great but I'm open to speculative solutions as well. I intend to use this space as a studio and plan do most my shooting there in my immediate future and if I can't solve this issue I will be forced to reconsider. Thanks.
