MiniDV Tape Storage/Shelf?

Does anyone know of any good MiniDV cases and/or shelfs to store lots of tapes in? Ideally I'd like to have one I could mount on my wall next to my editing station, and another zip up one I could care in the field. If you know of any and post a link to them that would be awesome!

Depending on just how "valuable" the content of your tapes is... you should consider some type of fireproof safe to keep them in. I have this type of rack in my large safe just in case the worse ever happens.

Check these guys out. I met them at N.A.B. today.

wow. The minidv tape file cabinet is cool. It would be even cooler if it was fire proof...

Yeh it was nice. It holds 400 MiniDV tapes. Very well constructed, not light at all. The drawers are silky smooth to. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I took measurements and it's 3/4" too wide to fit in my safe otherwise I would have bought this baby off the floor.

It was amazing how many vendors saw my local name badge and were offering "end of show" specials. I'm sure Barry G. will pick something up.

read the fireproof specs very carefully. I don't know if it is a gimmick or not, but Sentry makes a line of safes that are rated for MEDIA--tapes, cds, DVDs. They are expensive though, $250-$300 and not very big.

look up sentry safe or sentry.com something like that.

What they need to do is make one of those drawers so that it could be mounted into a 4U rack. That would be sweet. I have all my gear in SKB cases with wheels so I can roll everything from one location to another without having to take things apart or bang them around. Having tapes built in would be the icing on the cake.
