Hello,
I have been taking videos and editing them on my computer for some time now, and I have always trusted that the capturing process was as flawless, simple and lossless as a DV AVI capture through Adobe Premiere Pro.
However, recently I have been reading more in depth about the AVI "container" and discovering that it might not be the "straight, lossless" transfer that I had assumed it was.
My question is, is capturing a MiniDV tape through FireWire to an NLE like Premiere the best (and closest to "lossless", if not actually) way to digitizing content? Or is there a better, perhaps truly lossless solution?
