Any idea on price?

[Stephen Mick]

No pricing available, and the units should be ready later in 2012.

I was at the press conference/ dealer meeting where they announced this on Sunday. I thought they said the list price would be $3,995. Perhaps they just aren't making it official until the release, or I could be thinking of the KiPro Rack unit.

sounds reasonable if its around that price. Its interesting that with out a 4k recorder the C500 makes no sense at all. So its viability is going to be largely determined by the availability and price of the 4k recorders.

But it seems like it doesn't record raw but pass it through to a thunderbolt port or transcode to prores?!?!?!

Don't forget to add on pricey AJA SSD's in large capacities. You'll be over 5k plus by then.

The more I look at it the more the Gemini raw looks appealing
I really want to like this thing but the idea of not recording the raw files seems totally at odds with its market segment. Though as more info comes along hopefully I just have the wrong end of the stick.
