Mini LCD field monitors

I ran across a blurb in Independent Magazine for a new line of Ikan LCD field monitors. These are very reasonably priced 2.5 in, 3 in., 7 in. and 8in. (or thereabouts) monitors that can sit atop the camera while shooting. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had experience with this brand or absent that, does anyone have a recommendation for such a monitor by whatever manufacturer.

I was leery of this paradigm until this morning when I was interviewed by someone from CBS and the shooter had a tiny (3 in?) LCD atop his camera as his field monitor. I figure if they're good enough for CBS News they're good enough for me.

I use the 7" Panasonic widescreen LCD in my shoe mount. Love it for composition (the widescreen is especially useful since that's mostly what I shoot), playback, etc! It's nothing to focus with but you have your cam's LCD and viewfinder for that...

If you don't mind me asking, what were you being interviewed for?

CBS Sunday Morning...

...yeah I dunno about the 7". Seems a tad big. The CBS guy had only about 3 incher at most; too small for my tastes. There are several 5.6" models out there; not recalling the brand...I just wish I could find a review of them somewhere.
