Mini-gobo arm to support Marshall ?

Hey guys,

had a chance to check out the marshall today with the HVX - i like it a lot - do they make some kind of small little movable arm so I can stick the monitor on the HVX's hotshoe? I want to be able to hold the camera below my eyeline and bend the monitor backwards to see it - I don't like the idea of a gobo arm because it makes the handling all weird, I'd rather just keep it on the hot shoe

thanks

Check out Noga arms (aka Israeli arms). It's an articulating arms used for exactly the purpose you need.

Right, actually I did check out the Noga, I didn't like how long it was and that it added so much stress to my holding it upright - feels like it will snap off with the weight of the marshall, I was looking for something much smaller and practically - just something to swivel it back and forth like the built in LCD

You should make sure to check all the various sizes. Noga makes several different models one of which is quite small - not sure if it will take the weight of the Marshall though. Other than that a ball mount will give you the swiveling back and forth action.

You could go with a mini cardellini clamp with the 484 bogen ball head monitor mount. Clamp it on the middle of the camera handle and you can tilt and pan it to your liking.

I've been using the Marshall with a small Israeli arm (hotshoe mount), and it balances out somewhat when you bring the monitor to the rear of the camera. I usually have the monitor out on the left side of camera to use "viewfinder style" when on sticks. It helps to have a good head with counterbalance adjustment...
