Mini-DV Tape

If someone records on Mini-DV with the Panasonic HVX, can I play it back in my DVX100A? I'll be using my camera as the deck. Someone told me that I may not be able to play it back, but I don't see why I wouldn't be able to. As long as the footage is on Mini-DV.

Thanks in advance,

yep, in fact you can play it in any miniDV camcorder. Some folks buy cheap consumer camcorders to use as rewind decks and for capture.

I do exactly that. I use a GL1 for my captures, and sometimes a GL2, since the GL1 can get squirrelly with the DVX's audio.

As a bonus, you can also use the camera as an interface to your monitor or TV.
