mini dv for broadcast?

hey guys, hopefully you can help me out with this one. At work I was to put together a few shots of performances and send them over to another editor so he could edit a commercial for local broadcast. I found all the clips I needed and put them onto a mini-dv tape. The clips are all standard def- and look like they were shot with 2/3" cams so the quality is nice.

the editor emailed me today and said that it's still too low-res for tv. Is he right? How should I deliver the footage to him, or is mini dv just not going to cut it?

The res should be fine, although a lot of places won't accept mini-DV as a deliverable format. Beta SP is more standard.
