Mini Adapter for the DVX?

[ChasBetts]

I found this for the XL1 cameras...

It is very cheap, and I was wondering if anyone could make something like this for the dvx, or will anyone eventually?

Re: Mini Adapter for the DVX?

If you are thinking that this is a mini 35 adapter, sorry it's not. It just basically allows you to use nikon lenses on your XL1-XL2. The problem with this is that DV camera lenses are not like 35mm lenses. If you just used this adapter on the Xl1-2 you would have only extreme telephoto lenses. If you look at your DVX lens you will notice that it is a 4.5-45mm lens. If you were to use a standard 28-80mm lens on a mini DV camera you are using some pretty telephoto lenses.
The way that the mini-35 differs from this is that it takes a lens and then projects it on a surface that the mini DV camera then captures to it's CCD's.

Understood. You are correct, I was thinking this was a mini 35 adapter.

Re: Mini Adapter for the DVX?

sorry, no such luck, yet. There do seem to be several people on this forum that are working on mini 35 adapters. God knows the price will probably be slightly less then the 10grand mini 35's are going for right now.
