MINI 35/ 16X9 on DVX100

So I was wondering... it would be great to use the MINI35 to shoot a dramatic series, as I have done with the XL1s as an operator/steadicam operator. But I am also an FCP editor and thinking with the new XL2 offering 24p/native 16X9, it is the perfect candidate for those wanting to shoot "real" 16X9 with the Mini35 and also having it ready for widescreen sets, not to mention the obvious benefits of larger format for projected screenings ie. festivals.... Happens I bought the DVX 100A just before the Xl2 came out. I knew it would have 24p, even speculated that it would offer native 16X9. Anyway, I love the DVX-100, but dont think it will ever do true 16X9 with the Mini35... Anyone think this is possible?
It does not look like the AG-LA7200G adapter will physically mate with the Mini35... perhaps some smart people can make this.. or it exists somewhere?..... Other options?

The panasonic anamorphic won't work with the mini35. It's optimized to work at a focal length of around 25-35mm, and with the mini35 you'll frequently be using much longer lenses (which is, in many ways, the whole point of wanting to use the mini35).

Or...attach 35mm anamorphic lenses to the Mini35 with the DVX?

But that gets you 2.66:1, which you'd then have to pillarbox and stretch (assuming you wanted 2.35:1)? Or really, really unstretch and pillarbox to get to 16x9, which I think would be worse than having just shot in letterbox mode in the first place.

Of course, if you were shooting a Ben-Hur remake, THEN you might want the wider aspect ratio! 2.76:1 I believe...

"If that is the choice...then I'll shoot letterboxed!"
