Just got back from seeing this.

What a great film. I really enjoyed this so much.

I never cry during movies... this being no exception... but I sure came close...

Millon Dollar Baby, really got to me... very few films do...

incase your wondering only 4 other films have...

Forrest Gump
Good Will Hunting
The last Samurai
Return of the King( came real close in that)

excuse me while clear my throat.. I uh.. have something in my eye..

Re: Million Dollar..

This girl I know asked me if I saw it. I said no and she then gave away the ending. Damn, I hate it when people do that.

Re: Million Dollar..

This movie was excellent. a bit of a downer, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Clint Eastwood is starting to look like my grandpa though, which is just creepy :o

Re: Million Dollar..

Then you need to shoot a movie with your grandpa as Clint Eastwood. Fool some people. :o

Re: Million Dollar..

I just saw it last night, definitely an excellent movie, nice photography, good direction and Hilary Swank is just perfect.

C'est du bonbon!!!

Re: Million Dollar..

It´s enjoyable! i Have a great time waching it and understand why films made cross the pond are much better than here... It´s an entertaining story all the way about an old girl who wants to pursue her dream of boxing, about the relation between father and daughter and the triky theme, but the good point is at the end when they let you think about it.

It´s a very well constructed script. That´s what i love of Malpaso... Clint choose always right for some reason.

Watched this last night.

Gorgeously filmed. I am in love with the Cinemtgraphy. This film was nothing what I thought it was going to be (a chick boxing flick) which I knew after the critics and accolades anyway. Really enjoyed this.

The ending sucked balls though. I dont need every film to have a sappy hollywoood BS ending but what the hell? I was like "Nooooooooooooo..."

Sad but true.........

Just finished watching MDB. I was kind of surprised that I found this film to be just all right. Everything in the film was done well, the story just didn't speak to me. After watching it I would personally say that Aviator was more deserving of best picture, but there's probably a reason I'm not in charge of the Academy Awards. :)

Morgan Freeman's narration is some of the best written dialog I've ever heard though.

Saw it twice in theatres and, needless to say, loved it. Powerful film.

I get real pissed every time I see it though. Swank's mother in the film...****.

If you've seen it, you know what I mean. Now THAT'S a movie villian.

No joke! I've rarely felt such rage at a character in a film, but that ungrateful ... argh! I've got to go hit something now.

I feel the same about this character...

I feel the same about this charactere... and I also thought The Aviator had a better photography for best picture over all.

Well, Aviator did win best DP (Richardson is the man.)

I'd give it four stars or whatever, because it was brave and masterfully executed (and better than Unforgiven or Mystic River), but there were a few cliched characters and the ending was...unusual. The script was well constructed and the voice over well written, but I could have done with less of it. It was just overused and some of the scenes without dialogue were some of the most powerful. Incredibly brave, well executed, but it lost some momentum and the ending was irritating in that it didn't totally get sappy on you but it was a huge downer all the same. I'm impressed that they were willing to do that, though. Overall, superb in all respects, all the same.

It was done on a pretty low budget, too, apparently. They must have saved a lot of money on fill lights! Ha...just kidding. Well, not really...

I watched the Aviator before I saw this and I would have voted for MDB hands down. The Aviator was a huge budget Hollywood movie well done and I enjoyed it. However what did you learn about Howard Hughes that the tabloids hadn't already covered. One is a Hollywood big budget epic and the other is a storyteller telling a simple tragic story. No comparison in my book.

Scorcese did a fine job and if not for MDB he would have finally got his but to take this story of a wannabe boxer and let it move along at its own pace and then suddenly take on a controversial subject was great movie making! But what do I know, hell I live in the Ozarks and Maggies mom is probably one of my neighbors(God what an hack job on Missourians) still I thought it was a fantastic film and like Mystic River, Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales a classic. I think still think Eastwoods best work is behind the lens and I grew up on the Sergio Leone films.(loved the sound of gunfire in those movies).

On Scorcese there is no doubt he has been hosed by the Academy in the past but I think the right picture won this time.

The Aviator's Budget was over 100 million.
Million Dollar Baby's Budget was 30 million.
Million Dollar Baby was shot in just 37 days.

And just for the record there ain't no great Lemon Pie in these parts!
