But seriously...if you post a link to a specific Best Buy mic's spec sheet, posters could comment to that specific mic. You can find a dynamic omni (handhelds) that sounds acceptable for under $100, so you might find something usable in that range.

Right, the short answer would be no. If you're looking for some good deals, I'd suggest checking out your local Guitar Center, especially when they're having sales. I've gotten some discontinued AT cardioid condenser mics for $10 a piece at one of their blowout sales, and they're actually pretty good.

Don't bother with Best Buy. I love them for consumer stuff, but that's it. The suggestion for guitar center during their blow out sales is definitely a good one. I have never bought mics from them myself since I am a dealer for everything I need, but when the blow stuff out, I've seen them give stuff away for well below cost. I just always happen to miss when they do that.
