Microphone

I don't know that much about microphones... Can someone tell me of a good quality stereo mic I could attach to a boom, that has low self-noise, I don't want to get any kind of hum, clean audio sort of thing, that costs below 500 bucks? Any suggestions? What about the Oktava? Is that not good for outdoor boom micing? What is?
