Microphone settings

I have recently purchased a Sennheiser ME66 shotgun mic with the K6 feeder.

I'm using it through the XLR adaptor, phantom DC Power (+48 V), which came with my Sony DSR-PD100 camera.

The XLR adaptor has three options (beside the power on/off):
Level: ATT / STD / GAIN
What option should I use and when?

I also assume I should manually adjust the mic levels on the camera?

You want Std as your setting. Also, yes, you are going to need to crank that mic down, way too hot.

att and crank it up if you are shooting in loud environment
att-attenuation - 20 db before the input ,
that would be equal to working with normal output microphones without clipping
never worked with that camera , but keep the picks about -6 -8 db before the zero
