I have seen some interview setups for shows like 20/20 and others that might have the Anchor/Reporter wearing a Lav. mic and the talent may also be wearing a Lavaliere mic but sometimes they may have a shotgun mic mounted on a boompole that is mounted on a C-stand that may be placed somewhere in the middle of the interviewer and interviewee.
So is it just personal preference to go with a shotgun mic mounted on a boom pole in a seated interview set up? Does that shotgun pick up audio from both people? It would seem that the better choice is to have both people wearing Lav mics, no?
