Micro35 - M2 First Test Footage

looks pretty sharp, how about a few, full rez stills?

how long did it take to arrive, from the time you ordered it to the time it delivered?

Thing 1 and thing 2..

I ordered back at beginning of June and just arrived Friday!

An interesting comparasion would be something as simple as a page from a magazine or newspaper as a static shot, subject parallel to the camera, both with and without the adapter in place. A single frame grab from both would be perfect. This would help to show the resolution difference caused by the adapter.

This new GG is not quite working, IMHO. They state on their site that their adapter is producing a strange effect they call Ghosting. They say it only happens when there is too much light hitting the lens and therefore their Ground glass. Well I see plenty of that here, and there isn't a lot of light from what I can tell.

Craig, when we see the Raisin Bran. logo out of focus, there is clear ghosting, including the one in the still you posted. That doesn't seem to be out of focus, it seems to be in focus with a soft halo around it.

hmm...this happens all the time on my 20d with my 50 f 1.4 .... not exactly sure what it is...but it definitly has to do with very fast lenses....if i stop down, or adjust focus i can get rid of it.

really?

Yeah, some lenses are more pronned to ghosting than others. The fact is that there is no images shot with the M2 that doesn't present this issue at least none after the new sharper GG. So something seems wrong... G35 or Mini35 shots don't have it this often...

I have one of the homebuilt micros with the new GG, it does not ghost, well it does sometimes but more often than not its fine.

i dunno...im not holding my breath...i ordered a m2 almost a month ago...i will wait and see....i will probly order a g35 when it comes out too.

Um, I don't know... I'm still undecided but that link rich just put up looks pretty damn good. That's probably the best M2 footage I've seen yet! Too bad it wasn't DVX. Well, just see..

Yeah, I just ordered an M2 too, that is what makes me worried... But the hell with it, as you said, we better not hold our breaths...

-BTW, that footage is from the old GG. Looks real good though, it's from a feature people are shooting with it on a Z1...

yeah, im more worried about the delivery time...im super impatient...hope mine doesnt take 3 months like it did for craig....my order will be 4 weeks old this weekend...we shall see...

blue, yeah, i think it looks pretty good...cant wait to play with it.

Well I ordered last week, so I'm going to be the last to play, especially considering the time to get it to the southern hemisfere...

Here we go side by side with a res chart. You can see the grain pattern put in by the ground glass and the softening of the image.
