Micro Mattebox: Incredible

Got to see the Micro Mattebox today (Red Version, omg so SWEET) and it's pretty much game over for Mattebox manufacturers.

It should EASILY be priced at LEAST at 2499.99 for the complete package. The fact that the complete package for a RED ONE is somewhere around 900.00 is too good to be true.

The build quality is insane. Solid metal all the way around. The hinging is flawless, and the RED version's little Red knobs? Forget that, I want the RED version!!!

The best part about this entire unit for me is the seamless ability to adjust height on the hinge arm.

The flags are sturdy, everything is constructed on the same level as the Redrock Follow Focus (which we already know is killer)...

Those of you on the early pre-order list be happy. This sucker's gonna wreck house!!!

Can't WAIT to get my own. :D

i was thinking i was going to save a few bucks and pass on this only a few weeks ago, even being on the reservation list. i've been content enough with the geardear, but, man, this thing looks so dope, now i'm crossing my fingers i'm in the first 50. the swing away is nice, as well as the stackable filter trays (much like the geardear). someone in the hardware forum posted pics of the "red" 19mm version. sick.
 
Yeah I'm going to be needing to pick one of these up in a few months. Had been doing some mattebox research. Looks like I'm done researching now :)
 
I am not sure about the list deal. I guess if you have not heard by now, you are not in the top fifty. I thought I signd up for it months ago, but have never heard back. I think the pricing and availability will go up if you are not on the list. I will try to find out at NAB.
 
isnt the relase date april 15th? Id imagine that the first 50 or so will be sent and then the regular online orders will have a week or two lead time.
 
got the email from redrock, and placed my order for the deluxe package this morning! as predicted, you get a choice of accent color (red, blue, or black).

there seems to be quite a few new items in their catalog, including the microshoulderMount, their new highly-configurable shoulder support system, the microMount, which seems similar to the zacuto single rod accessory mount, and the limited edition microHandle, a top grip that replaces the silver u-bar on top of the m2. they're now offering carbon fiber rods as well.
