MICOVER PUFFIN and the RODE VIDEOMIC PRO??

I was watching videos of the rode videomic pro free windscreen deadcat and it seems horrible. It barely blocks wind noise on a windy day. So I was looking for other solutions and found the micover puffin wind cover series. Has anyone used those before? Especially on a super windy day or on a videomic pro? Would the 5cm or 10cm be better for the videomic pro?

There is a demo in there that might answer your question.
Bear in mind that any partially covered mic can pick up some rumble from the tail end. Best way is to completely encase it in a zeppelin.
However, "best" may not always be practical.
Thanks. But which size do you think would be best for the videomic pro? 5cm or 10cm? I don't wanna buy a 70 dollar wind muff to find out that it doesn't fit.

Ok, I didn't realize that mic was configured the way it is so some of what I said may not apply.
To answer your question, you need to know the length of your mic to know what size furry to buy.
Fwiw, 5cm = 1.97" and 10cm = 3.94". The rode video mic appears to be 6" in length.

VideoMic Pro requires customised Micover that can be done by them for $5 more.

Hi,
I've just contacted Micover and they said that they will make a customised version for my VideoMic Pro.
They said that the microphone is very close to the battery compartment so the regular one won't fit correctly.
All I did was contact them and they emailed me back within a day.

The custom made Micover will only cost me $5 more than the 10cm model, so $69.95
It required them to cut part of the bottom 3rd of the cover to make it work.

I plan on ordering one and I look forward to checking it out.
