Micheal Moore Hates America

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

Fine John, it's just not very professional for a representative of a film making forum to take sides with an instigator in an off topic conversation.

I think Slapdragon

a) is trying to make himself as popular as he can by replying to almost every single question in the forum whether or not he's got a good answer. I know he's made some very helpful posts, it's a part of the popularity contest he's trying to win.

b) is trying to increase his rank as quickly as possible by making a post every five seconds. Have you ever seen someone post so many messages in such a short amount of time?

c) luring people like me into huge off topic discussions so he has an excuse to post more messages. I tried to stop the politics at least twice, but only keeps arguing.

d) is trying to get me kicked out by constantly provoking me and twisting what I say into other things and refusing to make peace with me. I tried to make a truce with him and he chose to reply with an offensive insulting post.

e) is brown nosing every single chance he gets by replying with an "oh, I agree" or "well put" or "that's right" to everything a modorator says.

I know it's annoying for third parties to see such an abuse of a film making forum with rediculous off topic discussions. Please tell Slapdragon to leave me alone or just kick me out, because I will no be insulted and lied about. If he can speak to me without lying or being offensive that's fine, but I'm sick of his ****.

I'm not going to leave voluntarily because most of the people are here to learn from each other and I want to exchange information with people. I've got lots of knowledge when it comes to lighting and photography.

And Slapdragon, you're aweful quick to condemn my language. After all, you did call me a moron.

Bit paranoid, don't you think?

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

Ok kids.. last warning, play nice. Now that that insane July4th topic is starting to spread to other threads Im not gonna have my forum turn into a big hissy fit of crap that has nothing to do with the DVX or anything else film related.

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

Your behavior just seems very abnormal and unusual to me. I don't know why they made you a modorator, that's probably why nobody wants to stand up to you. I bet most people totally disagree with you, but don't want to mess with a modorator. That and you debate in a very intimidating way... always putting people on the defensive with questions and accusations.

I really don't care how fast your rank grows and how popular you make yourself, I just wish you would stop trying to piss me off. You know it's true. I don't want to argue with you. If you disagree with me, instead of saying something condescending or offensive or twisting my words, why don't you ask your question or try to make your point politely... and it might help to make sure that you actually read what I say before responding to it. It really makes me mad when you put inaccurate words in my mouth.

Sorry, it started out as a discussion of a film made by a DVX100

Drop it Tony.  I have been nothing but polite to you and have been neither condescending or offensive.  I did call you a moron once, in reply to some much more offensive remarks by you.

The remark you made in question of course was:

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

THE DAILY SHOW just had a hilarious segment with the maker of the movie. The interviewer asked him with sarcastic incredulity, "so Michael Moore refuses to be interviewed for a movie called 'Michael Moore hates America?" Anyway, they followed the guy around on the sidewalk, and the DVX was clearly visible. I'm interested in seeing what the movie looks like, if it goes to the big screen.

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

Yeah, The Faily Show segment was hilarious (as always). It was funny when The Daily Show "correspondent" was talking about how the filmmaker was having such trouble tracking down Michael Moore because he (Moore) is such a recluse and so hard to find in public. Then you see Moore standing behind the correspondent on the street.

I loved that!  There was also an interview with the guy working on the film about that peice earlier in the day.  He "played the fool" with them and claimed he simply loved the attention.  The lady who did the interview called him a "good sport."  He even knew that Moore was going to be in the peice and tried to score the interview in real life (apparently -- I am not sure that was Moore or a stand in, the Daily show is very creative).  I love the Daily Show.

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

I think that was Moore. It looked exactly like the man. Moore has been getting hassled for not doing this movie so I am sure he would have agreed to do the Daily Show segment.

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

Actually, I e-mailed the guy who made the film and asked what he used. He used three cameras, but none were the DVX. PD-150, XL-1 . . . don't recall the third.

According to him.

So did I, no answer yet. The camera in the Comedy CH piece was definately a DVX100 or the other 60i consumer look alike. But it might not be what shot the movie.

Re: Micheal Moore Hates America

From what I have seen on the website, this doesn't look as good as Moore's films. Although doesn't Moore buy a lot of his footage from freelancers?

Film banks, which is the same difference. Most docus use purchased film though, so this is not really an indictment.

No worries, I am not part of the skewer people for criticizing Moore group, nor am I in the skewer Moore for no good reason group. One of the things that often sets funded docus off from private ones is use of film banks.
