Mic to handle background noise

Get an EV RE50. It's a great handheld mic for man on the street interviews. It's rugged, and it doesn't pick up BG sounds unless they are loud. It's a dynamic mic, so you have to be right on it. It has a little built in suspension for the actual mic capsule inside it. I love it.

If you open up a RE50, you will find a 635A wrapped in foam.

Not so sure if that is true anymore Richard as the capsule in the current RE50/N is way bigger than the 635a, I had both mic's and the RE50/N sounds far better these days
