till today have always had INput 1 on front of my 100A set to line.
for some reason, today only worked when set to Mic with my sennheiaser g2.

had xl cable into Input 2 on side, & kept ch 1 and ch 2 select to Input 2, and input 1 & 2 to on.

usually when i use camera , either with external mike or the 100a's mic, i keep Input 2 on front to mic.

where have i gone wrong? or have i?

many thanks for all help

is it possible you somehow changed the level of the output of the g2 receiver?

i can't remember if you can reset the settings in the g2, i think you can but its been a while since i used a g2 set.

if you can i would try that and then also try it in both 1 and 2 and just be methodical about trying the various combinations.

even go so far as to write down what you have tried so you can go through the variations one by one.

G2 instructions.

Click SET

Use up/down button to move to AF OUT

For line it should be +12 (at least)

Use up/down button to EXIT

My guess is that you have the G2 AF OUT set too low.

when using 'line' in (which people seem to recommend rather than mic) on the dvx, even with AF out on receiver set to its maximum of +12, & the transmitter sensitivity set to -10db or even 0db (was recommended -20db for normal voice), i have to set the audio levels on the dvx all the way to maximum to get levels up into the red. from what i've read the dials should not be much above 12 oclock to get decent readings with dvx. Is there a setting on the dvx that i need to adjust - mic alc is on, mic gain set to -50db. In order to get strong levels I am having to switch to 'mic' input. I must be doing something wrong?

use mic input on dvx , set the af out that your picks would hit the-10 dbfs
the consumer line level reciever boosts doesnt really improve anything

start with the transmitter , adjust the input gain so your HIGHEST picks will hit the 0 on very loud voices , remember better get the transmitter limiter work from time to time then run low levels and get much more self noise
adjust the output for - 30 maximum
adjust the input for -50
you done
