I am kicking myself for not getting the Audio Technica AT4073a on eBay, it finished at only 250, I could have just bought it. Right now I'm using an Audio Technica my roommate owns, it's not quite that one, but it's pretty good for the price.teayce said:The VideoMic isn't great, but is definitely better than the built-in on the DVX - built-in shock mount too.
If you can spend the extra $$$ go with the Sennheiser ME66 or Rode NTG-1 or if you really have the extra $$$$$$$ get the Audio Technica AT4073a or Schoeps CMIT 5U.
Just a reminder though, watch out for the length of the mic - too long and it will be in your frame - add a windscreen and the problem can get even worse - better to just get that thing on a boom...
unless you're shooting solo, of course.
Ronin Cam said:I just bought 3 Rode NTG-1's with Rycotes for our shop. I'm using them as camera mics for our SDX 900's. Half the price of a Senn ME66, comparable sound and smaller since you don't have the power module. Our guys like them. Don't worry JGastelb.

Where can I get a short cable at?MiniMan said:I have the NTG-1 for my beloved DVX and I love it. But if you are going to have it mounted on camera, get a good shock mount and a short cable, the mount that comes with the DVX stinks.
