Mic Mounts

Can anyone recommend a Mic Mount for the DVX..similar to the one that comes with the camera?

but one that doesn't suck as much?

That is probably the only thing I don't like about the camera... the flimsy mic mount... plastic piece of junk I say...

I am just curious... cause I the slightest wind will sometimes shake the mic giving the old cord jiggling sound etc... there has to be a more robust mounting system.. preferrably one made of metal..

any thoughts?

I strongly recommend against the K-BWC systems for the DVX100/a. I have one and in my experience the screws on the camera-side are too flimsy to support it well enough.

The stuff that connects to the shoe-mount looks really good though.

You know what I did, I couldn't stand how it would just bounce around, especially since I do a fair amount of Videography where I'm tracking shot's handheld, it just sucked.... so since I had bought an Azden Mic, and it came with it's own mic holder, way better than that piece of crap that comes with the camera, But since that holder is supposed to mount onto the show and because I sometimes toss a light or additional hardware on the shoe, I modified my Azden mic holder with half of the Panny side mount, by just drilling a couple holes.... a perfect solid mic holder...... here's what I mean

Nick - briliant idea. I think I'm gonna do that. I have been trying to figure out how to have an on camera light with a shotgun mic, and you've solved my problem. Thanx.

This is my solution, I attach a hot shoe to the DVX ant then I cant atach fastly the mic mount. Here some pics.

The hot shoe was coming with a metz flash. I suppose that it will not be difficult to find any accessory for flash of the still cámeras.
