mic for outdoor use/wind minimization

i'm considering taking a DVX100b on a wilderness trip to the arctic. the area is prone to high winds, and i'm wondering if anybody has a mic recommendation for this application. nothing too gigantic or heavy. since the DVX has an XLR port, i'm thinking some pro audio would help minimize some of the various issues with this type of filming. any help would be very appreciated.

thanks,
ed.

price range ($150-$600)

Hi Ed, I am surprised no one has responded yet. Well what an audio guy would tell you is that you don't need to buy a special mic for wind protection, you need windscreens. Like this one:

That will minimize the effect, but it will still be there under high wind. The best thing to do is face the mic away from the wind and block it with your body, in addition to the softie for crosswinds. Good luck out there, stay warm :)
