G'day
When i bought my dvx100 there was no external mic holder. dose anyone know where to ge a replacement one? or what is best was to attach an external mic to the camera?

thanks

hmmmm, maybe this question should've been in Tech rather then audo.

I guess you should have the mic clip... since you paid for it... but it's pretty well worthless anyway. It doesn't isolate handling noise from any mic you stick in there. Mine has been in the box since a week after I bought my DVX... the ONLY reason I saved it is you can put a flashlight with 1" diameter in there (like an Invova style flashlight).

For the best oncam mounting solution you should get a K-Tek KSSM for $109... too much? Then how about the PSC shockmount for $59? I wouldn't use anything less then that unless your cam is on a tripod...

K-Tek KSSM specify SOFT bands... CLICK.

PSC shockmount... CLICK.

By the way the K-Tek needs the hotshoe adapter... and the PSC doesn't... but you can also get a K-Tek that has the hotshoe mount built-in... but then it can't double as a boom pole mic-mount... so why limit yourself? You'll also notice that the PSC can't do boom poles either.

The K-Tek KSSM with soft bands is my favorite mount... The only reason I still use a Rycote mount at all is 'cause I've got a couple really long mics.
