Mic advice, 416 or NTG 3 with blimp?

Hi everyone. I've got an sennheiser me66 with rycote windjammer.

Looking for another mic that is better and also superior wind protection.

I'm looking at the NTG 3 and this blimp

Or the sennheiser 416 system Here if it's worth the extra money

Or buying the 416 separate and getting this blimp if really much better

I've got a home made boompole that works ok but could use a better one.
The main thing is I need to step up to a better mic so my audio is better and get better wind shielding for outdoor. I spent way too much time trying to fix audio on the last shoot with wind problems so I need to fix rhis problem even though I don't have a lot of money.
The uses would be: on a boom, on camera, and sometimes on a stand or hidden during an event or wedding.

Id be grateful for any advice. I don't want to spend more than I have to but I need something pretty effective.

My impression of the sennheiser blimp is that it's indeed very good, but I haven't experienced the rycote system to be any worse, and it's much cheaper. It also allows for more flexibility with the different lyres if you want to use different mics.

Regarding the NTG3 vs the 416, this is very hard to answer since they are quite similar. The NTG3 pickup is a bit wider, which is good in some situations and bad for others, and most seem to prefer the 416 a little more if price was not a factor. Wether or not the extra investment for the 416 is worth it is up to you.

The Rycote basket windshield system is much better than the Sennheiser one.

I would definitely go for the MKH 416 with the Rycote Kit-4 - if money is a problem, then I would go for the MKH 416 with a Rycote S-Series kit.
