Easily the best in the series for me. 1 had its moments, 2 was absurd, 3 was solid, but this one was the most consistently entertaining with several great sequences. Looked phenomenal in IMAX as well, especially the sequence in Dubai which seriously gave me vertigo. Brad Bird staged all the action scenes brilliantly and COHERENTLY. Shaky-cam be gone! There was always a clear sense of geography to the chases and fights, and they were handled with genuine suspense. There were also some fine looking ladies in this as well. Paula Patton is gorgeous, and the chick who played the blonde assassin had some amazing cleavage. Oh, and she acted well too...at least I think she did. I wasn't really looking at her face. Pegg had the best lines as to be expected and Renner a good addition to the team. Was expecting him to be a little shadier but his secret resonated. Criticisms...the film got a little repetitive in the last act. One too many computer hack jobs and chases on foot. And the bad guy ultimately ended up being pretty one dimensional. But his scheme was sufficiently scary. Thumbs up for me.

Just saw it in IMAX as well. I liked it.

I think I actually liked #3 better though, if I remember (it's been a while, need to watch again). I felt like I was consistently entertained, but the story and plotline wasn't terribly gripping or surprising. No big twists or surprises (#3 did great with this). I thought the action was very clever and original. Really appreciated a number of sequences and ideas.

A few of the effects looked too CG-ish for my taste. I thought some of the humor and lightness was too much; the British actor particularly. Just too goofy for my tastes in a few parts, as to pass the field test would imply he's one of the best in the world. I know it was in the name of fun but still. And the main villain, I felt I never quite knew who he was or got to connect with him like you do in previous films. Agree - totally one dimensional. Also, for an old smart dude he was a bit too tough of a fighter/jumper out of major car-crasher/etc.

A couple minor pacing issues. I felt the setup on some of the break-in sequences was so fast paced/rushed that it didn't feel as "epic" or coherent as it could have. But I agree on the coherent camerawork throughout - much appreciated. Overall I think I enjoyed Woo & Abram's camera direction more though.

Anyway, blah blah - thumbs up :) 3/4 stars

Echo the above, stellar movie all around.

I particularly liked how all four IMF agents had their own little character arcs.

Yea it was definitely awesome in its own right but #3 still holds as my favorite for story. JJ was good at giving the film a deeper emotional base so it worked more for me in that regard.

I thought this one was quite good. I loved the new locations outside of the United States. Mainly Dubai and India. The effects were very good and i'm interested to see how they shot the Burj Khalifa exterior shots. I see that amazing building being used in more movies to come. I also really liked the french actress who played the assassin she was really pretty
