so if i want a Sekonic - L-358 Flash Meter and plan on getting some 64t stock, i just enter 64 for iso, right? does anyone know if this meter has a 64 iso settings and, if not, which ones do? thanks

ben

The L-358 has an ISO range of 3 - 8000 in 1/3 steps. Thus it has ISO 64
Virtually all meters will have an ISO64 setting.

Enter the ISO on the meter by holding the ISO button and rotating the jog wheel until 64 is displayed
Hope this helps.

they do make a ASA 3 stock ... you would buy a reversal print stock and use it in camera .... you would have to do a few test ...
1) to determine the ASA ( could be anywhere from 1 -4 ASA )
2) to determine CC - i usually find around 30cc M and 10cc Y a starting point ...
kodak batches vary slightly on ASA & CC ....

you might be able to use a dupe neg stock ?? again you would have to test for ASA & CC ...

Hmmm... if you used Kodak 50D colour neg, you'd have to pull it 5 stops.
I guess you'd get pretty funky results, if any at all.

If you want the effect of realy slow film, whack a heavy ND filter on the camera.
Depending on the design of the camera, you might be able to put a ND gel filter in front of the gate, and emulate the slow film that way.
Lee make a 4 stop ND gel, #299 (1.2 Neutral Density)
This, coupled with either an 0.3 (1 stop ND, Lee #209) or a 1 stop pull would give you an effective ISO 3.

The alternative is as Donatello said, find a very slow dupe or print stock.

If you want to use ND gels for this kind of thing, just get a Lee swatch book - they're either free or very cheap, and the gels in them are about 1.5x2 3/4" each.

It's a general purpose meter - It has cine settings and it is capable of metering flash.
Maybe Color wants to use it for stills as well as cine?
I know if I was looking for another meter, I would want it to be capable of measuring flash as well as ambient, as I do a lot of stills work.
