Thats rite!!! the Metal Gear Solid series is going to the silver screen!!!

I cant express..how excited / dissapointed i am

for one..im excited..because the series has really made a name for itself in originality with gameplay and action. This game-to-movie production, i kno for a fact will do great..Kojima wouldnt let this precious franchise get eaten up by the goons in Hollywood who only make films for money.


Im disapointed too because..i hope it doesnt turn out like a Doom...or Silent Hill kind of film...because most games that went to film were horrible. I hope Hollywood doesnt fuk up this franchise that ive come to love since 1998.

when I first heard about this....

for some I reason I instantly thought of that guy that plays Sawyer (josh holloway) on Lost as snake. I don't really know much about his acting abilities besides whats been on Lost, but he sure could look the part.
 
I was reading through the gamespot forums and they mentioned him...along with the original voice actor David Hayter. He did the screenplay for the X-Men series.

...the next few years are gonna be quite interesting for this series.
 
yeah I knew about this but hideo better write it and EP it and have something do and if he directed thank you god.
 
I had read that they were going with a more asian looking actor.

I don't have a link to the article but i found alot of the statements made about the film disconcerting since it is an "American" story so to speak.


I believe it was somewhere in the labryinith of E3 articles over at ign.com
 
One thing they can't f&ck up! The excelent soundtrack of the series!

And I agree that Kojima should direct it. He has proven he's got the directing skills on the game's cutscenes, wich are as cinematic as they can be, so it should be more than fair for him to direct it. Its his baby, after all, and he should know better to what he wants.
 
Well Metal Gear Solid is not your average video game.


So normally i would agree with you but in this case i think there is definite potential for an amazing action film.

Still has to be made by the right people though.

True. The metal gear games have a lot of story in them. But Hollywood always finds a way to screw it up.
 
WOW. Cool and... scared. The games have more story than most Hollywood pictures. And the films translated suck because... well, they suck.

Get right director, make sure Koijima writes it at least, has control, get right actors heh it'll be different, and better. HOPEFULLY.

And David Hayter never saw a picture of him, wow didn't know he was a screenwriter. And he sorta could do it, he looks a little asian, put a little muscle on him and not so bad (I mean he already has the voice and attitude right? =)
