Metal Gear Solid 4

I know its strange to put a videogame in the "Film discussion forum", but I believe this game is the first one to trully break the barrier and transend the notion of Videogames, creating what I feel is the first trully accomplished Interactive Movie experience of the XXI century.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a piece of cinema, and a brilliant videogame.

The best summer "movie" I've experienced so far.

Any thoughts?

Haven't played it yet. Turns out the Blockbuster here doesn't carry PS3 games, and the other stores are all out of rentals. I'm not a big enough fan of MGS to buy it (yet), but I'm wanting to play for a few days.

How's the gameplay? I've watched the trailer a couple times and it's like watching a movie. If the actual gameplay is even close to the cutscenes it will be like an interactive movie.

Michael.

It all works incredibly well as a whole. That~s why I started this topic over here. Its a unique cinematic interactive experience.

It has everything we normally use to judge a movie: lighting, camera angles, acing, mise-en-scene...And add to that incredible gameplay- which Immersive is really the word to describe it- and you've got something that breaks up boundaries.

The game is a technical marvel, Beyond story its game play and visual and controls makes this best game I have ever played. Storywise it finally ends the saga and ties all the lose ends and makes you go wow. no wonder the scripts for these things are like 1500 pages.
