Hi,
I have a large ammount of captured footage, It's all .mov files, that I want to store in a clever way.
Is there anyway of setting up an archive where I can give the clips metatags, keywords, so that when I'm looking for something I'd get all the clips with this keyword (sunset, smile, water....)

Do I need a certain software for this, or can i ad info to an excisting clip?

Thanks a lot!

J

If you have QT Pro you can do a Window -> Show movie Properties,
Under annotations you can add keywords and other items.
You coudl also do a Get Info in the Mac finder and set spotlight comments but probably best to use the QT keywords.

I have decide to start adding keywords with QTpro to clips. But is it possible to add this same info (the keyword info) when I'm capturing with FCP?

So that when I want to move the best clips to my archive I do not have to add the Keywords again.

You can add notes for captured clips in FCP but unfortuantely I don't think it's smart enough to add the kewwords to QT exports.

I thin ksoem of the compressing software such as Cleaner probably have export options to do this.

In any case check the help menu of FCP.
