Merging a number of 24p Files and preserve source timecode

I had a bunch of cadence breaks in capturing so I did capture now which automatically split the clip up into pieces when ever it found a cadence break. Now I have about 20 files, is there any way I can merge them all without losing the source tape's timecode? I'm using Final Cut Pro 6.0.2

Capture Now should retain the source timecode... unless you used uncontrollable device.

However... you didn't do what I suggested when you asked for advice before... did you?

Yeah I didn't do what you said about capturing in 60i and setting I/O points for everything...just don't have that kind of time for what I'm dealing with. (I've managed to get all my media on my computer luckily) Anyways, if I exported a QT Movie then wouldn't it re-write the timecode according to the sequence?

BTW -- are you sure they're 24p and not 24pA??? I thought you were dealing with 24pA stuff.

What does the timecode overlay say?? Is it correct? Or does each one start at the 00:00;00 point?

My bad...I meant 24pA. I'll get back to you about the timecode overlay.

Actually at this point you'll want to see if you can do TOOLS - REMOVE ADVANCED PULLDOWN from each of the clips.

Why do you need timecode? Is it THAT important to you now?

Alright thanks for your advice CaptainMench. I think I've resolved the issue.
