MENACE ARM: Rigging Kino Flo

Hello Group:

Does anyone know what kind of of clamp I need to get in order to rig a 4x4 kino flo to a speed rail? Or ever possibly a light weight soft box?

A Little Ben clamp: http://www.filmtools.com/grip-and-e...-clamps/grid-clamp-with-5-8-pin-021-3930.html

It's a baby pin bolted to a single cheeseboro.

"cheeseboro"

The Grip world has the best names for stuff!

I love "menace arm". And what is the one for the offset for the camera when on a dolly- "ubangi" Does that name, politically incorrect as it may be, come from some similarity to the plates that the Ubangi tribe put in their mouths? Or from the fact that "you bang-ee" you shin against the damn thing so often?

A menace arm kit shouldn't need any clamps to mount the light to the speed rail, it'll consist of the ear and mast that goes in the combi head of the stand, one end with two baby pins and another end with a junior receiver. For hanging a kino all you'd need is a gobo head.

His question suggests that he is making his own poor-man's menace arm and not using any "kit".
