The father of my high school friend had this cassette deck in his home. Two sixteen year-old boys could not figure out how to play back our Van Halen tape on it. Keep in mind that this deck did not duplicate tapes - or anything else for that matter.

Those Nakamichi auto reverse cassette decks were the cat's butt!

They designed it on the principle "...As few moving parts in the playback/record mechanism as possible", so they made the tape tray pop out and flip the actual cassette 180 degrees and pop back in!
