Memorial Video

LOL, yeah I figured it was supposed to say COULDN'T have vs. ... "yeah, you really could have done more"

Brandon, try refreshing your browser? When you go to that directory (I'll update the link in the first post) www.eefilm.com/scholl there will be three other directories ... I've had requests to see the video, download the video in high resolution, etc. ... so I'm putting a bunch of stuff on there for both Mac & PC for anyone who wants it, specifically friends & family of the deceased.

Norm.... I am speechless... I am just absolutely speechless after watching that video... WOW! All I can say is I was in tears by the end... I am just so... so moved by it... this man was younger than me, with a wife and child, and was lost to us in this world... so sad, yet you ended the video so uplifting with the last text... all I can say is I wish I could have been there to take part in that memorial service...

Golly, Brandon, thanks. Really appreciate the kind words. I can only take credit up to a certain point in this, with regards to rearranging the images for some kind of timeline/story. The rest was the music from Michael W. Smith, and the overall moving composition of it, as well as the fact that this young man truly had some VERY touching moments that were able to be caught on camera, most noteable is where he's litterally kissing his unborn baby goodbye, and the very next shot we see him with his favorite dog at the door, with tears in his eyes as he knows he's leaving ...

... and to the possibility of never coming back. Unfortunately, that's what happened, and I was able to kind of retell it through the pictures they randomly provided to me.

Norm - I've never met Michael but now I feel as if I have. It is an amazing tribute and I'm sure they will love it and charish it forever. My thoughts are with his wife and family. Thank you for sharing this mans life with me.

Norm,

Great job. You handled this young Marine's memory with dignity, honor and respect.

Thank you!

Thanks PK & Ranger, my pleasure & honor to do it. Uploading the footage now to my PC for editing (yesterday got away from me) from the funeral service, 21 Gun Salute, etc, from yesterday.

You did a great job on that. Very emotional. I'm sure the family will love it.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but how would saying "Son of God" be interpreted as blasphemy? In typing that, I realized it could possibly be interpreted by people as calling him Jesus...

I think Child of God sounds better anyways.

Well made.

LOL, that's exactly the thought process I went through when doing it. Really, a lot of people are cool with saying we're "sons & daughters of God, etc.", being that he's called our "Father", yet when you just state "Son of God", it could be taken the wrong way. Bottom line to me, even if it's cool yet distracts the viewer for even a moment to consider whether it's fine or not, then I've pulled them out of the moment ... so yep, the alternative was safer.

BTW, thanks for the kudos.

I haven't been around much due to the holiday, so I am just seeing this for the first time. Wow! What a phenomenal tribute. I don't even know the guy or his family, yet I was sitting here at work reaching for the tissues as tears started flowing down my face.

What a testament to a life well lived, we are all in debt to his service.

"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends".

Hey Norm, just watched this AGAIN!

I love the changes you made.

I've sent you a PM but just wanted to post here again.... Incredible work you did here.

Ted

Hi Ted, got the PM, and really appreciate it. You're a quality guy, and being a former Marine yourself, I'm extremely happy to have been able to share it with you & the others, as well as benefit from the valuable feedback that was given back to me.
