i had to revert the navbar to get the new search to work without combing through code.
The member upload center is still here, but not on the navbar...
There is a problem with it anyways, in that it occasionally "bans" people who try to use it. Seriously... It kicks them into a moderation group. Don't know why it does that, but some kind of compatibility issue.
It's pretty long in the tooth, so I will look into getting something updated to replace it sometime soon.

Thanks Jason. I have used that for a long time with nary a problem. I figure if it was gonna do it, it would have by now. Famous last words? I sure hope not.
