MELTDOWN and SPECTRE - update ? or keep system stable?

So with the intel bugs, I'm wondering about updating all my system software vs. keeping the setup I've been using and is fairly rock solid for the past year. I assume this would apply to most editors who have their system dialed in, but for the record I'm on a Mac running OS 10.11.6 using premiere pro cc. I do use this and my laptop for web browsing / email as well as editing.

Thoughts?

More likely to see corporate systems targeted than individuals. I'd patch the processor and move on, Intel has patches for most things, and they mostly work. There are also tools to determine if your processor is even affected by this, that's the place to start. Don't go by the scary news, check it out yourself and then patch it if needed.
