Who is going in January?!!!!

I am reseaching the hell out of everything and I think I am going to make the trek this year, small entourage in tow! Hopefully for the duration Jan 19-29, 2006...

Anyone's films make it into any of the fests?
(Sundance, TromaDance, SlamDance, etc)

Where are you staying/crashing?

What are some cool events/parties going on that you have heard about?

Movies you want to see?

Here are some DVX films that are playing in the Park City/Salt Lake City Fests this January (I will update list as I find more, please post others as well):

Moonshine (Horror) @ Sundance
At night in a working-class Connecticut town, beneath an incandescent bulb in the cellar, a young convenience store clerkÕs monotonous life is about to end. From in the shadows an unseen man, a vampire, waits, moving slowly closer.
Wed. Jan 25, 11:59pm, Egyptian;
Thu. Jan 26, 9:45pm, Broadway 5;
Sat. Jan 28, 11:59pm, Egyptian;
Sun. Jan 29, 4:30pm, Holiday II"

I will be there. I'm just working out the details. I'm on a tight budget these days. I will probably check out more Slamdance stuff than Sundance. A Slamdance All Access Pass is much cheaper than the Sundance Passes. But I do wanna catch some Sundance films as well. Especially the DVX films. :) I need to start putting my ear to the ground to find out about some parties.

I'll be there with a dog in the race - a (DVX 100) movie I worked on called "First Date". For showtimes press 1.

January 20, 8:30am , Library Center Theatre
January 21, 11:59pm , Broadway Centre Cinemas IV, SLC
January 22, 8:30pm , Prospector Square Theatre
January 23, 11:59pm , Holiday Village Cinema III
January 24, 8:30pm , Holiday Village Cinema II
January 28, 4:00pm , Holiday Village Cinema IV

Setting up a dvxuser.com meet might be cool. God knows I can't afford to see all the movies I'd like to, so I'll have to come up with some alternate activities.

I can just see myself spending a small fortune to go to Sundance, and spending most of the time in the condo surfing the net and watching softcore on cable.

If you guys have any questions about PC, feel free to ask me, since I live here full time. :)

I know I'll be there the whole time.

I am seriously thinking about making the trip this year but last minute with no accommodations is not wise at Sundance.
I went a few years ago and had tickets to several films, a great place to stay in easy walking distance to the main street and had connections to get in 80% of the parties. Made lots of friends, saw some good films and had a great time.
This time I have absolutely nothing lined up but would like to make it there if possible.
If anyone wants to bail out of their group or pitch in and rent a place if there is anything left to rent I am up for discussing the options.

SkiUtah,

Thanks for posting here and I will most definitely be in contact with you soon...LOTS o' questions!

ScottS,

can you hook me up with some of your party connections?:cheesy:
I am looking into condo leasing options in PC right now, will post more when I have some details, maybe we can setup a DVX house!

I live in Salt Lake, but my apartment is a dump. I don't think anyone would want to crash there. :embarasse

I have a lady that I have contacted who is leasing her condo in the Park City area for the 10 days of Sundance. It sleeps six comfortably: 2 Queen beds, one futon and one couch and is $300 per day, this amount would be split among those staying there.

However I don't have the 6+ people to make this an affordable option. I have two for sure (my wife and I), one for 5-6 days, and 2 others possible at this point, but if anyone here is looking for a place as well this could be a really affordable option (the more we get the cheaper it is).

Any reliable, responsible DVXusers interested in possibly going in on this with us?

OK, last bump from me...

Anyone else going and want to meet up? Have a film in the fests?

Curugon and myself have films in TromaDance - come and see 'em!

Hmmm....seriously considering this one. John-pm me with all the info: i.e. when you're flying in, when you're flying out etc.

This '300.00' room thing has piqued my interest. Do me a favor and send me some details when you get the chance, like your travel plans and all that good stuff. maybe I can convince the wife it's for 'work'...

Alvarez,

that $300 a day place was waaaaaay long ago and there's been like a dozen options I have looked at since then (I lost them all because I had to wait till TromaDance announced their lineup).

At any rate the place I am staying at now is in SLC and is filled up, but there are still options around. I will send you a condo I was looking at in PC but you'll need to get some people to go in on it with you to knock down the pricetag.

Slimothy,

check the PM dood.

Raytracer glad to hear about your movie making it. I read you were having a fund raiser in Westport, I wish I could make it, maybe I'll make the screening in Feb. I'm down at Lake of the Ozarks good luck in the festival.

Of course now that I have lodging I am getting emails like crazy from condo-owners in Park City responding to a post I made on Craig's List. If anybody is looking for lodging let me know, I will send em your way...
