Meet Bill (w/ Aaron Eckhart)

This just came out on video. Some really good talent (eckhart, timothy olyphant, elizabeth banks) but the script is just terrible. I googled for director interviews cause I want to know how in the world this movie got made (not surprisingly it's a first time director). The movie - as best I can tell - is about a guy who doesn't really like his job, finds out his wife is cheating on him, mentors a high school kid (for no reason), has a gay brother, wants to open his own donut franchise. It's so all over the place. I can understand these low-budget movies attracting talent with a great script. But eckhart must have known this was terrible. My next thought is he did it for the money. But I think he's got tons of offers out there more lucrative than this. What happened here? Does anybody know?

I've been to a few sites looking for the trailer, but its not to be found. None of the sites in the search results had a trailer still online.

There seems to be these types of movies that money is thrown at to get made and I just have to accept that its some type of freakish anomaly, something that just doesnt happen in the order of the world I tend to live in.

Or they are privately funded disasters that get name actors attached because they want some spending cash and they had nothing better to do? Someone called in some favors? Who knows....

It's equivalent to the difference between The Phantom Menace trailer and the subsequent movie. The trailer actually has purpose.

If only the guy who directed the trailer had directed the film.
