I shoot with a Canon XHA1s and I have purchased the Varizoom Media Rig (shoulder mount) at NAB 2010. I got a monitor from SmallHD, the DP1x 8.9”. It is pretty light weight for its size, but I am having a hell of a time mounting it to my rig. I had hoped to mount it to the rotating accessory mount, but it is too large and runs into the camera. I am pretty sure a 7” monitor would work, but I’d really like to give the SmallHD a chance.
Has anyone seen a similar setup to mine? Where is the best place to find adapters and such? Maybe some kind of articulating arm that won’t add too much weight. The nice thing about the DP1x is that it has pointing points on all four sides – top, bottom, and both sides; even on back. All ¼” 20.
