Measuring your focus

On the M2 adapter, where do you measure your focus from? Is it from the middle of the lense glass, or from the groundglass image plane, or...?

What do you mean? measure from the subject for your picture? or when focusing in on the ground glass?

Once the back focus is done, (camera to ground glass), subject focus is now measured from the plane of the ground glass out to the subject.

If you look on the manual still lens, it has numbers on it. These numbers are used for measuring the distance between your subject and your camera. Well in this case, your subject to the back of your manual lens, at-least with my adapters. It displays the measurements in meters and feet.

I need to know exactly where to measure from. I'm aware that there are numbers on lenses and what they are for. I need to know if it is measured from the actual glass in the lense, or from the ground glass in the adapter, or wherever; especially when using faster lenses beacause in HD, the footage will show any faults in focusing.

Like Craig said, measure your focus from the gound glass plane. THis is, in essence your film plane, and is the same distance that the film would be from the lens in a 35mm camera.
