Measuring Focus

Wasn't there someone out there that developed a neat little measuring focus chart for the DVX100/A? I am pretty sure I downloaded it, but never printed it.

Can someone send me the link to this chart - if it exists?

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Measuring Focus

Inf stands for infinity, that is infinite focus which starts at about 93 on the DVX 100 and at about 95 on the DVX100A

Re: Measuring Focus

A quick question related to focus. This is more of a follow focus question.
When we do a follow focus from point A to point B. Do we adjust the focus as we move from A to B, or we change when we arrive in B?

Thanks in advace

Re: Measuring Focus

If the camera is moving and shooting a fixed object then you adjust focus as you move so it always stays in focus. If an actor is moving then you typically adjust your focus on him as he moves toward or away.
Other focus options: Rack focus from one subject to another. Speed of this depends on what you want to see.
You can let an actor go out of focus and another actor step in to where he was.
You're the film maker so you can decide exactly how you want it to look.

Thanks scott,

What about when the camera and the subject are both moving? Does the same theory related to the subject moving apply?

Thanks in advance

Fidel.

Re: Measuring Focus

Interesting event last night while shooting a reflection in a coffee cup. Camera aimed down at top of cup racking focus in and out on shimmering image. OK. Then fixed foucus on image and did a wipe with blocker between the path of the image. No image and then slowly revealed by moving the block. Blocker my hat.
On the last shot with blocker and camera in manual it lost focus all the time. What gives? On a DVX100A.
