md players and macs

any mac users here use md players on their macs? how do you make it recognize the player?
I'm using md player as a hook up to my shot gun mic-mini jack- to record dialogue. many people talked about it here and now that i think about it, I dont really know how it's done. How do you extract the audio?

you mean MiniDisc? If you are talking about hooking it up via the optical I/O on the newer G5 macs then I have no idea. But for hooking up my super old Kenwood to my dual 867 G4 I just run it into the audio in, capture in real-time through an Audio Program like Sound Studio or better. Until i get one of the newer Sony net MD's i'm stuck transfering 74 minutes of audio 1 second at a time.

yeah, the sony software seems to only support pc's
so, i've been using cd spin doctor, but is still real time transfer
