McG & Why I don't watch morning news shows!

Wow, I could almost taste the money these journalists were being paid to say nice things about Terminator Salvation and McG... I was prepared for the usual 'hype-machine' but when a news anchor tries to rally a large crowd to chant "Hail McG!" I almost threw up in my mouth. Had he actually deserved praise such as a successful and creative director, it would had been tasteless at most... but to a man who's yet to show us anything he deserves to be remembered by... it was just disgusting.

It really made the hype machine very transparent. I can only guess who's parent company owns who.

This cornfest is not for the faint of heart film lover.

lol that bit cracked me up..

It's all the same nowadays. I mean when one company owns a record company, tv and radio stations, a movie studio, convenient stores, hardware stores, candy companies, airlines, batteries, a soda company, shoe company, pencil company, etc. it's not even about throwing around money anymore. It's just promoting your own products.

It's pretty disgusting, but what can you expect?

Why are they so starstruck? Aren't they on television every weekday? And don't they get high end celebrities all the time? That's just stupid.

This was alot like watching the presidential press conferences :-)

lol, okay, not to descend into political talk.

This is yet another reason why it's hard for an indie to get it, the vertical strength the studios have is overwhelming.

I don't think the corporate honchos are going to be praising McG much come tuesday, based on the box office projections.
