So is there a way to disable a macbook pro from falling asleep when you shut the screen?

I'd like to be copying data to my MBP in the field, but don't want to always keep the screen open, ya know? I'd like to have it copying in my backpack or likewise.

Is this possible for dumping in the field?

cool program! Just don't use the disengage hibernation option! Yikes!

I know you didn't ask but... also, if you need to keep your discs spinning up for a live capture, there is a program called Disksomnia.

Also, be careful with Insomniac if you close the lid, you may want to encourage your computer to cool faster with either one of those USB powered external fan bases or smcFanControl (another free download), which lets you select and monitor fan speeds. You can't force the fans to spin slower (and overheat your machine), but you can set them to spin faster.
