mbox 2 or audiophile?

I'm looking to buy a new interface, which i want to be proTools based. I'm using it mainly for audio post/ sound for video, as well as general interviews/radio documentaries. I'm not, at this time, using super sensative mics to where the pre-amps/ sampling rate would make a huge difference, but feel it would be better to pay a little more now to at least have the future option.

the new mbox seems like it falls short on sample rate, speed, and power...my other option is to get the m-audio firewire audiophile and the proTools LE m-powered to go along with it. the audiophile seems to be in all ways better (save for price).

just wanted to hear some thoughts/advice.

thanks

The audiophile interface does not have mic preamps. Other than that they seem fairly similar. You might want to check the features of PT LE vs PT Mpowered, as I am not sure if there is a difference. Just so you know, I have a PD HD system, and I never record above 24/48. 96k needs a lot of extra storage and processing resources for not very much gain IMHO.

I believe the MBox is also 100% usb powered, so no need for external power brick, which might be kinda nice.
