I am looking for the most efficient way to do the following: I have a few shots, one dolly and one zoom in where my subject is lit and all else is black... The flagging of the lights didnt work out like we planned so I need to figure out how to mask the areas off with a black square or something, and then have them move as the shot moves. I am guessing I can just take a still image of the shot, put in PS and then bring it in over top of the area that I want to cover... and then just move it with keyframes until its out of frame..... Is there an easier way to do something like that?

That's pretty much the way it should be done. Be sure to blur your mask so that it doesn't look like a sudden cut. There are more complicated ways to do it, but that basic idea could work out.

If you have Motion or AE you could try to use their motion tracking abilities to help automate the process.
