HI folks..I am knee deep in making a documentary regarding veteran's issues. I have a shoot coming up Memorial day weekend to cover the veteran's programs and events outdoors. Can provide more details.. I am debating flying there and staying over and shooting the event myself versus hiring a camera operator who lives there and could do it less expensively than me traveling there to do it.
Are there any camera operators in D.C who would be willing to cover the event for one or two days of that weekend? I think the event is the 23rd and the 24th. A Saturday and Sunday. I would need to pull the Park permit for the two days and I would be looking for someone ideally with my same camera. A Canon XH-A1 and shoot in 24P in HD. They would then turn over the tape to me with complete releases from the camera operator and any release forms for any individuals in the footage. The equipment would be limited to one camera in one bag and one tripod. The park service bases the fees on crew size and cameras.
If anybody lives in the area, shoots with that camera and is willing to do this, please contact me with your experience and your fee..I am weighing the cost of doing it and staying over and the other hassles of getting there, or paying someone to do it. Thanks.
