Maxtor or WD HD

Anyone here has had any problems with either Maxtor or WD external hard drives. Some good deals out there on the 200g and up External but want to make sure I get the right one.
Also, do most of these allow you to swap out the size drives or what?

No problems with either. Just make sure the speed is at least 7200 rpm and there's at least an 8MB cache.

Of note, it's more likely that you'll find an ATA/133 speed in the Maxtor.

What do you mean by "swap out the size drives"?

I thought that with some externals, you could change the hard drive out for using as a storage master.

In other words, once Iam done editing a project, remove the drive and thats the clients master. I think the external Maxtor 250g One Touch is built into there hard case. Ya cant take the drive out. I noticed some print saying hot swap. What does that mean.
