mattebox with 35mm adapter

I have a Jag 35mm adapter and some canon FD lenses. I'm looking at buying one of those indian cine city matteboxes.. but I'm trying to figure out how it would actually mount to my slr lenses? Anyone know?

I would reconsider buying a cheap mattebox, even though they may look good on the web, when you get them, they may not conform to the standard 15mm specs and be useless. I would look into redrock mattebox or similar. Not too expensive and you have good customer support.

I believe the cheap cinecity matteboxes have a ring which screws on to the front of your lens (you need to get it with the same thread size as your lens filter threads), and the outside of the ring is fairly large. The mattebox then tightens to that ring, which holds it on. Here is the page with a video (I haven't watched the video in a while, so I may be incorrect on how it works)

This is for the cheap ones though, not for their rail system boxes.

The cheap cinecity matteboxes are usable, but they are what you paid for.
I am using one, but if I could spend the money, I definitly would buy a better one.
The weakspot is in the rodconnection and centering it to the lens.
If you don't mind a little of-centre and some movement on the rods, it is the thing for you!

dont bother getting a mattebox. You will not end up using it for what its supposed to be for (like a lot of people) and then you will just be adding weight to your rig.
